My greatest fear was Microsoft phasing out Spaces and my blog Rajalary. With Spaces losing functionality in the past year, my fears increased daily. I had no idea how I was going to migrate nearly four years worth of posts and pictures.
I started to investigate alternative blog site, and WordPress always seemed the best option.
And then the day came… a note from Microsoft that I should migrate my site to WordPress. I followed the instructions, pushed the buttons, crossed my fingers, hyperventilated… prayed… and then voila! It’s happened!
Magic!
Rajalary is on WordPress. I have a lot to learn about the WordPress freatures, but I’m deeply relieved that my writings are safe and sound on a great platform!
Wow!! How great to catch up with your blog and all the adventures of 2010. I want to start doing this wordpress thing too, so must take some moments to get on board with it.

Ruth,
Good to hear from you! In late 2006, I started a blog using Microsoft Windows Live Spaces. About three months ago, Microsoft announced they were phasing out Spaces and had made arrangements for everyone to migrate their blogs to WordPress… a superior blog Web site.
I bit off half of my fingernails, but the migration process was super easy. Even better, WordPress has amazing templates for designing a blog. It’s as easy as choosing a template, filling out the initial information… and hitting “go.” I typically write in Word (Office) and then paste the content and images into LiveWriter, which connects to my WordPress blog. It’s a fun way to communicate our adventures and post pictures!
